Aspen Valley Hospital Board of Directors CHUCK FRIAS, DIRECTORMr. Frias has lived in Aspen since 1974. He is an owner of Frias Properties of Aspen, a local property management and real estate company that specializes in real estate sales, rentals, property management, and development. Mr. Frias has served on many local organizational boards including: Aspen Chamber Resort Association, Aspen Lodging Association, Aspen Junior Hockey, Aspen School District Financial Advisory Board, Aspen Trout Unlimited, Aspen Child Care Advisory Board, Meadowood Homeowners, and Villa of Aspen Homeowners. Mr. Frias raised his family of two children, born at AVH, in Aspen and currently lives in the Meadowood Subdivision with his wife Marilyn. BARRY MINK, MD, DIRECTOR Dr. Mink has practiced medicine in the Aspen Community for over 30 years. In addition to his medical practice as board-certified internist, he has served in medical staff leadership roles for 18 years while on staff at Aspen Valley Hospital. Dr. Mink is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. MELINDA NAGLE, MD, DIRECTOR Dr. Nagle has been on the medical staff at AVH for several years as an obstetrician/gynecologist providing care to women of the valley. Dr. Nagle received her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed her residency at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Prior to medical school, she was a tennis pro in Aspen, which, in conjunction with her medical practice, contributed to her knowledge of the community and its needs. JOHN SARPA, DIRECTOR Mr. Sarpa is the President of the Aspen Valley Hospital Board of Directors. He is the partner for Centurion Partners, LLC in the Rocky Mountain region. Mr. Sarpa has a law degree and has been a member of the Board of Directors for a number of other organizations including: Aspen Rotary Club, Leadership Aspen, Aspen Valley Medical Foundation, Neighbor to Neighbor, Aspen Chamber Resort Association, and the Aspen Institute Community Forum. He also serves on the Pitkin County Conflict Resolution Committee and chaired the Marketing Advisory Committee for Aspen. He has received numerous awards for his well-respected leadership abilities and is a strong proponent of high-quality local healthcare and area affordable housing. LEE SCHUMACHER, DIRECTOR Mr. Schumacher has lived in the Roaring Fork Valley since 1980. He is an attorney specializing in taxation and real estate. His law degree was received from the University of Denver College of Law. With six children, and a law firm that has represented physicians and physician groups for more than 20 years, he has both professional and personal experience with Aspen Valley Hospital. He also serves on the boards of Aspen Country Day School, Aspen Valley Ski Club, and the United States Soo Bach Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation.
